Galatasaray midfielder Arda Turan has agreed to sign a five-year deal with Atletico Madrid, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
The La Liga outfit have reportedly reached an agreement with the player and all that’s left is for them to agree a transfer fee with Galatasaray.
That shouldn’t be a problem as the Turks have told the 24-year-old midfielder that he would be allowed to leave if the good offer came along and Atletico should get their man for a fee in the region of €12 million.
Despite interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, the Turkey international opted for Atletico as he believes a move to Vicente Calderon will further aid his development.
Turan’s current deal with Galatasaray is set to expire in June 2012 and the Turkish giants are prepared to sell their most prized asset next summer rather than risk losing him for free.
The Galatasaray captain has been in outstanding form over the last few years, after arriving to the big stage at Euro 2008 and he has long since overgrown the Turkish Super Lig.
