Leeds United have completed and confirmed the signing of Kristoffer Klaesson from Norwegian side Valerenga for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper is a product of the academy at Valerenga, who earned first-team promotion in 2019 having represented Norway at every youth level. Since then, he made a total of 57 appearances for the club, keeping a clean sheet on 13 occasions. He arrives to Elland road to provide cover and competition for 21-year-old Illan Meslier, who put in a number of most impressive performances for Leeds after their return to the Premier League last year.
Klaesson is the sixth addition of the summer for Marcelo Bielsa s team, following the arrivals of midfielder Lewis Bate from Chelsea, left-back Junior Firpo from Barcelona, winger Jack Harrison after a loan from Manchester City, midfielder Sean McGurk from Wigan s youth setup, and winger Amari Mille from the academy at Birmingham City.
The young shot-stopper has signed a four-year contract with the club.
